Professional Training in Creative Updo Techniques

We've spent six years building comprehensive training programs that actually prepare stylists for real salon work. Our courses combine technical precision with creative expression, taught by professionals who work in the industry daily.

Working With Industry Professionals

Our training connects you with experienced stylists, salon owners, and industry experts who understand what it takes to build a successful career in hair design.

Salon Network Access

We maintain relationships with 47 salons across the country. Students get introduced to salon owners looking for trained stylists, with direct referrals based on skill demonstration during coursework.

Industry Event Participation

Students attend regional styling competitions and trade shows where they meet potential employers and collaborators. Last year, 38 students made professional connections at these events that led to job opportunities.

Mentor Matching Program

Every student gets paired with a working stylist who reviews their progress and provides feedback on portfolio development. These mentors have an average of 12 years of salon experience.

Career Development

What Happens After You Finish Training

Most educational platforms stop at course completion. We recognized that students need support during the transition to professional work, so we built systems to help with that specific challenge.

Our graduates don't just receive a certificate. They get practical assistance finding their first positions, building client bases, and navigating the business side of salon work.

  • Portfolio review sessions with salon hiring managers
  • Introduction to wholesale product suppliers and equipment vendors
  • Access to liability insurance programs designed for stylists
  • Continued access to technique update workshops for two years

How We Structure Learning

We started developing this platform in 2019 after seeing too many stylists complete training programs that didn't prepare them for actual salon work. The techniques they learned looked good in photos but fell apart under real working conditions.

Our approach focuses on building muscle memory through repetition and variation. Students practice each technique multiple times with different hair types, textures, and lengths. They learn to adjust methods based on what they're working with, not just follow memorized steps.

Every technique we teach gets used regularly in professional settings. We don't include styles that only work for competitions or photo shoots. The updos you learn can be completed within reasonable timeframes and hold up through real events.

Skill Verification Process

Before moving to advanced techniques, students submit video demonstrations showing they can execute foundational methods consistently. Instructors review these submissions and provide specific feedback on hand positioning, sectioning accuracy, and finishing quality.

Where This Training Takes You

Students who complete our programs work in various settings. Some join established salons, others build freelance businesses, and many do both depending on their schedules and goals.

Salon Employment

Most graduates join full-service salons where they work alongside experienced stylists. Starting positions typically involve assisting senior stylists before building their own client schedules.

Wedding Specialists

Some stylists focus exclusively on bridal and event work. This requires strong updo skills since most wedding hairstyles involve secured, structured designs that need to last through long events.

Mobile Services

Mobile stylists travel to clients for on-location services. This path requires business management skills beyond just technical ability, but offers schedule flexibility and higher per-service rates.

Getting Help When You're Stuck

Learning complex techniques means running into problems. We've built multiple ways for students to get specific answers when they hit obstacles during practice.

Weekly Live Instruction

Every Tuesday and Thursday, instructors run live sessions where students can ask questions about specific techniques they're struggling with. These aren't general Q&A sessions - students submit their questions in advance so instructors can prepare detailed demonstrations.

Sessions get recorded and added to the course library. If you miss a live session, you can watch the recording, though you won't be able to ask follow-up questions until the next live event.

  • Sessions run 90 minutes with time allocated to each submitted question
  • Instructors demonstrate problem techniques using mannequins with camera angles that show hand positioning clearly
  • Students can request specific hair types or textures for demonstrations

Video Submission Feedback

When you're practicing a technique and can't figure out why it's not working, you can submit a video of yourself attempting it. Instructors watch these submissions and provide timestamped feedback pointing out exactly where the method breaks down.

Most students submit 3-5 videos per course module. The feedback cycle usually takes 48 hours, though it can extend to 72 hours during peak submission periods.

  • Submit videos up to 5 minutes showing your full process
  • Receive written feedback with specific timestamps highlighting issues
  • Get corrective technique suggestions tailored to your specific execution problems

Student Practice Networks

We connect students in the same geographic area so they can practice together in person. These aren't formal study groups - just connections between people learning the same material who can work on techniques together and give each other feedback.

Some regional groups meet weekly, others monthly. The frequency depends entirely on what participants arrange among themselves.

  • Get matched with 4-6 other students within 50km of your location
  • Access shared scheduling tools to coordinate practice sessions
  • Participate in optional group challenges focused on specific technique mastery
